I've never actually seen the cowbell skit (and this is a re-edit, which might be a good thing!)....
Actually, the classic cowbell song is Hugh Masekela's version of "Grazin' in the Grass"--http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtfKmRa5TsA (Do not play the Friends of Distinction vocal....what was that?!!?)
I used to play this on "Solid Gold Saturday" when I was a DJ. (And a sub for that matter, because I usually did overnights and "Solid Gold Saturday" didn't run all day--go figure.)
I am allowed to ramble, right? This is ADHDMe's blog/chat room after all.
Anytime something's missing from a band piece during band practice (usually it's me not playing the written notes..) I'll offer "perhaps what we need is a little more cowbell?"
Well, at least now I know what you were talking about when you & Sue were joking about the cowbell! I never saw that before. I've always gone to bed by 10, even when I was "young." :-)
Lack of adequate cowbell has been traced to the origination point of all the major problems facing humankind today. The stock market would always end on an "up" note with more cowbell. The existence or non-existence of weapons of mass destruction would be a moot point if only we had more cowbell. The reason I can't play expert on Freebird on GHII is because...you got it...we need MORE COWBELL....
I think what would really create just the perfect 15th comment to this blog post, something that would just create a new sensation in the blog world, something that would be heard the world 'round is definitely, without a doubt...
laughing......... laughing...........AND still laughing!! My hubby and I were just talking over the weekend about that skit and the good ol' days of SNL--so funny!!
I am not the most consistent person you will ever know. I might write my own blogs...I might not. I tend to say too much and then regret it so if I do write, hopefully I'll re-read what I've written and then delete most of it. I Love Jesus.I am trying to reach the point in my life where I remember to "give it to God". Sometimes, I forget that he is in charge and then I try to do it myself. So far the results should be proof enough that I need to let him take over. I'm working on it with help from a few special people.
I am a firefighter and an EMT, and of course I am an adrenalin junkie. I am more focused and work best under stressful situations.
I have 2 kids whom I adore. They are boys ages 12 and 17. They are proof that I don't ALWAYS work best under stressful situations!! But, we'll be fine.
I have tons of respect for our military and our country.
My Blog title is Monkey's Are Funny...ok, they really aren't that funny but that's what my sister and I say when my ADHD kicks in. (long story)
Also, I tend to ramble....
for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action at the risk of Ridicule and being accused of Association with a bad element..."

"...Upon hearing the firefight in progress, the group of bloggers dropped all personal business, and sent much needed words of encouragement, that led to a regrouping and strengthening of fortifications, which raised the spirits and morale of those afflicted. Their acts were in keeping with the highest traditions of the Blog-O-Sphere and reflect great credit upon themselves and the Blog-O-Sphere in general. Beverlydru's comment cracked me up! Muffin Top. That is just sad.

I think they must have padded Will Farrell, because I just don't think he's that much over the "top," as it were.....
Do I hear more cowbell?
Cowbell until the cows come home....with their bells....their cowbells.....

I had no idea how incredibly intelligent you are, A&OX4,. It must be due to my lack of More Cow Bell!!
Must Have More Cowbell!

I don't remember this skit. I can't remember anything, or perhaps I just didn't see it.
