Thank you so much for posting this one! I keep telling my kids about this great show I used to watch and have even attempted to sing the song, but we've never been able to find old episodes on DVD so they've never seen it.
Oh good. I can't wait! Hey, do you know how to schedule posts ahead of time? Cuz you could find him now, while you're thinking about it and get the post all ready to go and schedle it for next Tuesday. Then you could forget about it and it would be OK! *grin*
I loved this show! It was a Saturday night ritual...kind of like the bath in the water tower! And I wanted to marry me a guy just like the crop-dusting pilot..I think his name was Mike? Ted doesn't fly, but he does work for an airline...and he wields a mean dust rag....hmmm........
I miss it too! But I don't know if I miss the show, or really just the simpler times back then ya know? Can you imagine if tv was still the same? Life would be sweeter.
There were just some shows on the TV that I didn't get at the time they were on, and this was one of them. Not that it wasn't on at our house. We watched all kinds of stuff in reruns.
But Petticoat, McHale's Navy and even Beverly Hillbillies were just too "grown up" for this youngin'.
Gotta say, though, that it was a totally awesome theme song!
Oh my goodness! I loved that show! My brother and I watched it every afternoon one summer while Momma made supper! For Edie....I think they were swimming because it was hot.
One of my favorite shows! I just called Zoie in here and replayed it for her...oh sweet memories. So which Bradley girl do you relate to the most...Betty Jo, Billy Jo, or Bobby Jo? Pamela (Betty Jo)
I am not the most consistent person you will ever know. I might write my own blogs...I might not. I tend to say too much and then regret it so if I do write, hopefully I'll re-read what I've written and then delete most of it. I Love Jesus.I am trying to reach the point in my life where I remember to "give it to God". Sometimes, I forget that he is in charge and then I try to do it myself. So far the results should be proof enough that I need to let him take over. I'm working on it with help from a few special people.
I am a firefighter and an EMT, and of course I am an adrenalin junkie. I am more focused and work best under stressful situations.
I have 2 kids whom I adore. They are boys ages 12 and 17. They are proof that I don't ALWAYS work best under stressful situations!! But, we'll be fine.
I have tons of respect for our military and our country.
My Blog title is Monkey's Are Funny...ok, they really aren't that funny but that's what my sister and I say when my ADHD kicks in. (long story)
Also, I tend to ramble....

I wanted to be Bobbie Jo so bad!
Wow, that one goes back aways! I barely remember it, but I always liked it.
I wanted to be Betty Jo. Lucky me...my mom named me Mary Jo....ugh!
I liked the character...not the name!
OK, when are you going to have Barry Manilow as a guest? I have never tried to find him on YouTube, but if he's there, I bet YOU can find him!!!
Oh good. I can't wait!

This will always remind me of my friend ADHD-Jo. :)
Something I've never understood about that intro though. Were they bathing or swimming in the water tower and why?

I only vaguely remember this show. I was wondering why they were swimming/bathing in the water tower too. That's why I drink bottled water. LOL!
Does that ever bring back memories. I never missed that show. I still know the words to the song.
I miss it too!

And yes the water tower thing confused me too!

Pamela (Betty Jo)
I've never seen one episode (not one) mainly because of the opening segment/video.
If you want to hear 'Petticoat Junction' at its best...listen to 'Flatt and Scruggs' version.
..and no, I'm still not that other person.
