I know the anticipation has been driving you crazy.
You've laid awake nights wondering and hoping
"Will I ever get to learn any new words?", you whispered aloud.
You probably caught yourself saying out loud,"I NEED to broaden my vocabulary".

Well, you can put your worries to rest. Today is the next installment of The Dreaded WVB.
You know, that little box at the bottom of the page with random letters that, until now, everyone thought were just letters that had no meaning.

The Word Verification Box.

So now, without further ado....busy activity, fuss, excitement, commotion, flurry, hub bub, turmoil.....oh, sorry, I've missed my Thesaurus and just had to use it.

The Dreaded W V B

The Dreaded Word Verification Box.... Better known as The WVB.

For those of you who aren't familiar with this term, the WVB is the box of scrambled letters on some blogs that is supposed to help reduce spammers. Like many of you, I used to find the WVB frustrating and more often than not, I ended up having to type in the letters multiple times until I got them right.

HOWEVER, as many of you know, I finally realized that the WVB should not be dreaded. It is, after all, the making of a new language. All over the blogosphere (not to mention the Internet) people have been unconsciously typing in these, so called, random letters without having a clue that it is really a whole new language just waiting to be learned.

I am so proud of those of you that have begun to realize this! And there are many of you out there that have taken my teachings faithfully and even forwarded me a few of their own discoveries. To those of you, I give a hearty "Well Done"! To the rest of you that haven't discovered this secret language, I say now that it is never to late to learn.

I now present to you my latest additions to The WVB Dictionary.

1.slymis- a sneaky woman.

2.singiac- a manic singer.

3.chabio- Fabio's chubby little brother.

4. hinee- (hee hee)

5.dunpe- what has occurred when one has finished using the restroom.

6. zywis- a contraction of the phrase "as I was". For instance, "Zywis walking down the street and saw a pretty butterfly.".

7. drophous- What the FOX television station will do when they decide to cancel one of my favorite tv shows that stars Hugh Laurie.

8. stillmed- The newest medication for ADHD, (not yet available to the general public).

9. teeter- A broken Teeter-Totter.

10. bunifies- To make something "Bunny-Like". This term is used by scientists during rabbit metamorphosis experiments.

BONUS

11. From Edie at Rich Gifts-
exons- ions that have lost their charge.

Have An Incredibly Wonderful Day!!!!!

The Dreaded WVB

I haven't been very productive lately and (obviously) haven't been doing much blogging. What better time could there be to work on learning a new language. You know the one. The Dreaded Word Verification Box (WVB). Although we all agree that this can be an inconvenient hassle, it is also a way to work on our foreign language skills.

Here are a few of the new words I have learned.

1. relie-that is the problem with lying. Once you start, you usually end up needing to lie more and more to keep up with the original lie. It can sometimes be very confusing keeping all those lies straight. Therefore, I strongly suggest that you avoid lying. That will prevent the need to relie.

2. stogger-one with an abnormal fascination / obsession with any certain blogger. One who stalks any certain blog and perhaps makes copies of this blog and wall papers his/her room with it.

3. refreak-what Chatty Kelly will do next time her husband allows people into her office when she hasn't cleaned it.

4. menope (me-no-pe) I went into the ladies room but after I got there, I changed my mind, menope.

5. prophy- false quotes from The Prophet.

6. alquit- What Al did when he was losing the game. Al is SUCH a poor sport!

7. ferfo- One who protests the wearing of fur.

8. inedov- When you have a strong craving for something. When I wake up in the morning, I am inedov a diet coke.

9. Archinewho- Second cousin of Archinehow.

10. tarintub- What a Mess! After Berr Rabbit got out of the tar, he went home and had a bath. He really needs to learn to clean up after himself.

11. fatenal- Medication for obesity.

12. noper- Sound made by a mute cat.

13. maywar- The battle that came after the April War.

14. bratop- Well, it makes a lot more sense than brabottom.

15. ovenizi- This is the product that was invented before the Easy-Bake Oven. Not sure why it never took off.

16. submene- The part-timer that takes over for the Full-Time Mene when he or she is on vacation.

SO, until next time.........

It seems like the spammers have been out more lately. Because of that, we are encountering more and more of The Dreaded WVB..........Word Verification Box.

Re-Visiting the WVB

Hi all. You may think all I do is write about funny things or off the wall topics. But education is a very important topic. Enriching one's vocabulary is a great way to enrich one's mind. SO, as you read the following, you will see there is a very intellectual and deep side to me also.

Today, I am going to approach the Word Verification Box again.
The DREADED Word Verification Box (WVB)!

We've been over before how annoying they are and how those spammers get through anyway but they still keep getting used.

As I've told you in the past, at least it can be very educational. Why, I've even learned more new words since my last post on this subject...what did you say? You want to read the last one I wrote? Well, aren't you sweet. You can read it by clicking H E R E. OR, as I just found out, you can go to Goggle, type in Word Verification Box on images and yours truly is the first image there!

These new words that keep coming up are tricky. Sometimes I cannot find them in my Websters dictionary, but that's ok because many of these have the meaning built right in.

Here are a few I've run across in the past few weeks.........

1. CATAPOOT- definitely an easy one, (and my favorite from this list). Your kids are playing with their toy catapult and it isn't working properly. The stone is just falling off of the end. That is definitely a "catapoot"

2. Nonash-The opposite of YesNash

3. Suatri- When a tree falls on you and you take legal action against it. (ok, maybe this one is my favorite)

4. whobb- What Weebles do when they DO fall down.

5. Gizinh- What to say to someone who starts to sneeze but stops in the middle of it.

6. Volium- The medication that the doctor gives you once the Valium becomes ineffective. (a step before Xanax).

7. Genfati- that is what you become when you drink too much gin and get a big belly.

8. Cardem- What the guy at the local bar does to make sure under age drinkers aren't trying to get in.

9. Inquets-opposite of outquets......don't ask me what outquets means. I can't do all the research. But it probably means something like the opposite of inquets.

10. Cowerso- Remember those bullies from when you were a kid? Stand up to them and watch them cowerso much.

11. Addiliu- A word for people with ADD and ADHD. It is when they start to talk about one thing and suddenly get sidetracked and off the subject. My favorite subject in school was history because you learned so much about real people and real times and, oh, I've really spent too much time here today because I have tons of important things to do...like laundry ....dishes.... dinner .....vacuum ..... My vacuum is an Oreck. It's ok, but until they make a vacuum that does the work for you, to me, they are all the same. Hey, I think they did, I think it's called the Robovac and it is a little disc that travels around the room for you. I read somewhere that you have to program it though and I could be finished vacuuming by then.

Well, that is all for now.

Oh, and to all you people that still have the WVB. I'm just kidding. I LOVE you all. Thank you for enriching my mind!

Exidia The Word verification Box

It's time to kill the WVB ( Word Verification Box).

A moment of silence please, while we all remember the good memories we shared. Ah, what fun it was to try to read the scrambled letters, only to mistake an "r" for an "n". Oh, the joy of being able to re-type our comments. Yes indeed, Those days gone by, will forever be remembered.

Alas, The WVB will be missed, but fortunately, its passing did not take away the knowledge of all the new words that we never even knew existed.....until now.

exidia- gracefully depart the room. "It is now time for the WVB to exidia."

alized- to understand something the FIRST time around. As opposed to the 2nd time (which would be RE-alized. "As soon as I saw the storm I alized I was going to get wet."

adrima-When an Italian gentleman has thoughts, while he is asleep. "Last a-night I had an adrima and it-a kept me awake-a all night-a long."

mitess-The Golden Touch. "Every investment he makes, turns out great. He must have mitess."

nonflo- what the water does when you put a plug in it.

civeri- It's that same Italian gentleman. "He has a big smile on his face. He's-a-very (He is civeri) happy."

lexomed- Medication taken for those who aren't satisfied with the car they own and want a Lexus instead.

dompulf- The kid wearing the dunce cap.

musigne- A word invented for a new movie that is being released. It is a knock off of Planet of the Apes. It is called Planet of the Moose. That is if the moose will sign the contract. "Hey Bob, we need a musigne before we can start filming!".

andum- The word used when you are finished talking and or writing, and can't think of anything else to say.....

"Well, andum, I guess I'm done with this list now."

The Dreaded Word Verification

The dreaded word verification.

You know what I'm talking about. It's that little square that comes up after you have written a comment on someone's post. There is something about that, that drives me crazy-er. It's just a minor inconvenience. It's just the fact that sometimes they write it so blurry or "squiggally" (new word) that I end up having to type it in more than once.....sometimes more than twice. Once I think I had to write it in 3 times but I don't think I've ever had to do it four times. What is even worse is when you copy the word incorrectly and your comment erases. Remember, my attention span isn't quite what it should be. My first comment may be full of compliments or funny responses, then it erases whe
n I mess up the word verification....by then not only have I forgotten what I wrote, but there is a good chance that I have even forgotten what I read! You know what happens then.....the notorious "Nice Post" comment. hhmmmm....that made me think of The Notorious Missionary in Spain. Notorious comment....Notorious Missionary..... I haven't visited her in a while. I think I'll pop over there after I'm done here.

Where was I? Monkeys are funny.

Oh yeah. Anyway, as much as I dislike the Word Verification, it looks like I am going to have to enable it on my blog for a while. It seems that I have a new "blogger buddy" straight from, um, straight from, er, straight from a county that doesn't speak English. China or Japan maybe? I don't know.

As much as I enjoy new readers, somehow, I don't think this individual is actually reading my posts. Granted, quite often many of you don't "get" my posts.... usually because they may not be "getable"
(another new word). But a least you understand the words. (even when I use words like squigally and getable).

Also, there is something about this individuals comments that make me think that we really won't be following his/her blog either. Perhaps I get that feeling because of the fact that the comments usually read something like...
Chinese symbols for about one or 2 lines...then the word PARTY in English, followed by more chinese symbols.
Do you think....Is it possible...could it be....Canned Corn Beef? Or even worse....SPAM!!

ANYWAY, I will be adding the word verification to my blog for a week or so. Then I'll remove it and see if I was able to get my blog off of this individuals mailing list..... actually, CK, could you do it for me?

SO, bear with me....or monkey with me??
