Life Lesson #732

When you are in training for the fire department. You spend a lot of time in what is called The Burn Building. The Burn Building is a 4 story, concrete building with many rooms and stairways. For training exercises, it is filled with smoke and multiple fires ranging in size from small corner fires to rooms that are fully engulfed in flames. There are also "victims" (150-175 lb dummies) throughout the building that must be rescued.

When you are are probie/rookie, there is always at least one officer or instructor in each room to insure your safety and to access your progress.

It is extremely imperative that if you are the"man" on the nozzle (in charge of water flow), that under NO circumstances should you ever, EVER- regardless of whether or not is is completely unintentional, douse the instructor with water.

A soaking wet instructor makes for a very unhappy instructor.

An unhappy instructor makes for a VERY unhappy probie.

Believe me. I know.

Life Lesson #205

Never attempt to unclog the nozzle of a can of spray paint with a pin, tack, or other object.

Just take my word for it.
