FASHION ADVICE From the Fashionably Challenged Part 1

Debbie, at Suburb Sanity did a post the other day called Fashion in the Suburbs. It just really cracked me up and I had to steal the idea to do my own version. (It isn't plagiarism if you say where you got the idea from, is it?)

1. Who is your fashion icon?

I've always been fashionably challenged. I've NEVER gone with the styles or the latest trends. (After all, you can only go SO far with black). Although my looks have have varied over the years, what stands out the most in my mind is "The Bag Lady" look. There's nothing like a long skirt, multiple layers of length shirts and hiking boots to give you that "I bet no one else will be wearing the same outfit as I am" feeling.

And even though I still wear them, I especially LOVED my Jackie O sunglasses back in the 90's, when everyone else was wearing the John Lennon ones.

2. What piece of clothing could you NOT live without?

Well, I changed this to what accessory could you not live without? I don't see how any woman can get through the day without her lipstick stencil!

3. What is your definition of "Couture"?

According to dictionary.com it is, "being, having or suggesting the style, quality of a fashion designer; very fashionable".

I was sure it was the name of the guy on "The Dukes of Hazzard" that drove around in a pick-up truck and had a crush on Daisy Duke.

4. Your thoughts on East Style West Style.

There's way too much useless information floating around in my head, to add anything else like this.

5. Your advise on how to be comfortable in your own skin.

Don't be a Chameleon! (but don't be a Boy George either!)

made me laugh out loud...again...
I was never one for the long skirts, I tried but I'm just too short, it made me look even shorter!

Your html shouldn't affect your linking ability. Are you typing your post from the "Edit HTML" tab instead of the "Compose" tab? If you are that would explain both issues.

Hmmm, I'll be right back.

I'm back. I'm sending you an email.

Ok, just sent you an email.

I love this post. The lipstick stencil had me ROTFL.

The video was... well... the words escape me just now. :)

Ha! Love it. When I was in junior high, I used to entertain my parents by dressing up as the bag lady that Carol Burnett used to play when she fed the pigeons- do you know that skit thing she used to do on her show? Anyway- that's what this made me think of. I'm really glad you commented on my recent post, what was it, three times! Thank you so much, because that is how I end up commenting all the time- accidentally posting double, triple comments. So it made me feel normal-ish when you did that, something I know I actually very much am not. And this HTML thing you are dealing with, totally get it, the problem that is, not the solution. Sorry I can't help you with that, yet. I'm very much learning- all the time.

I just watched the video. Two comments.

1. Wow what amazing dance moves! (not).

2. lyric: "I'm a man" - Are you sure? Cici was standing here and said "Is that a witch?" Witch maybe...woman maybe...but a man. No way.

I figured out why I wasn't linking to Debbie at Suburb Sanity. I was doing COPY and PASTE instead of CUT and PASTE.

Thank goodness I figured THAT out!

I need a Fashion Consultant to go shopping with me. No matter what wonderful fashion advice I get, whenever I go into the store I just don't know what to buy. There are too many options and I get overwhelmed.
Thinking I may have a unique condition which I am calling Shopping ADD. Too many options, and I just shut down. *sigh*
