Today Is Tuesday. You Know What That Means...

Today is Tuesday.
You know what that means.
We're gonna have a special guest!!!

****BEEP BEEP BEEP******

We interrupt this post for a special announcement.
A special THANK YOU to Sue J for handling last Tuesday's special guest.
My contract with all of these tv personalities, song artists, ad agencies etc, requires that a Tuesday special guest be posted every Tuesday. Had Sue J not stepped up to the plate, I very well may have lost my contract and that would have been the end of the Tuesday Special Guest. And THAT, my friends....would be a shame. So....everyone.....a round of applause for Sue J for saving the day!!!

Clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap ........

***BEEP BEEP BEEP*******

We now return to our regularly scheduled program....already in progress.

I must admit that whenever my back goes out of whack, that I begin to feel a twinge of self-pity. It's not a huge deal and I'm not looking for sympathy because we ALL have aches, pains, or some kind of troubles. Never-the-less, it reminds me that whether I like it or not, I am getting older and cannot do all the things I could do before. There are still plenty of things I can do, so this IS NOT a pity party. I know I am lucky to be as healthy as I am. I definitely would not want to go back in time but sometimes I do feel a little bit like this song, (especially at 3:58 of the clip).

AGAIN, Live in the present and do the best you can. I know.

Never-The-Less.....

We had this 45...and some days, we thought this SONG would never end!

Thanks for the kudos...you know we were all really missing you. The Banana Splits are hardly appropriate filler when you're not here. But, so glad you are feeling better!

I can't believe Mary Hopkins is just standing there singing this song. I though for sure she'd have a guitar--for the chorus, at least... And the early "closed captioning" is really something! Those were the days.....

Closed captioning - haha. Looks like the karoke version to me.

You know, we remember the same stuff so amazingly, it's like we were raised together. Looking back at THAT time, those definitely were NOT the days.

Seems like she's spending too much time singing in the pub to me. Maybe if she'd get out of the pub, she'd be making those dreams come true, instead of just dreaming them. Something to think about.

:-)

Older but not wiser? You are certainly wiser. And you don't look a day older than when I first met you! :)

I feel the same way about that age stuff though. I'm amazed at not being able to do some of the stuff I could do even a few years ago.

I'm so glad you're back online!

Okay, I have a hard time believing this chick ever sang and danced in the tavern. She's barely turning her head side to side even with all that dancy music. Nope, I don't buy that tavern girl stuff. Apparently, her memory has failed her in her old age of say... 27?

And why is she on a ship?

I remember that song too, only I remember that we actually did quite a lot more moving to it.

Bonita, you know, I was thinking about those same things. She barely looks old enough to be in a tavern at all, much less, talk about the "old days" of being there. Maybe her mom took her in the baby carriage. Maybe it traumatized her and that's why she isn't very animated. (just a thought) And yes, you're right. She isn't the most animated person I've seem. I think I move around more just typing about it.

KC- I definitely wasn't talking about THOSE days!!

Sue J. I almost accidently posted the version by Sandie Shaw. She didn't sing it as well (in my opinion) but she did move...just a little.

Edie- The great thing is, that when we finally DO meet....I still won't look a day older than the first time we met...since we never met...in person that it....however I did do the See What I'm Saying video.....and I do have my picture posted.....and that was already about 5 years ago.....so maybe I will look a bit older....then again TV adds 10 pounds and we'll pretend 10 years.....I bet video does too....and pictures too, YES! That's it!.....So, I got it....we'll both look the same way we did when we first met....Isn't that what you said in the first place?

I wondered where you've been. Older but not wiser? Hmm. I sometimes feel that way, though I really feel I should be wiser. I keep wondering when I will be mature. Grown up. I always thought by 46 I would be these two things. But. I don't think it's working.

I sang along with the clip, because with the words lighting up purple and all, it was really like karaoke, like your sister said. But they aren't really singing La La La, they are singing Lye, Lye, Lye.

And perhaps that is what it is. A lie. Maybe these are the days. Not those were the days. I think I'm gonna go with that.
