The First Thing That Comes To Mind

It has been a while since I have sat down and typed out an actual post. You know, the kind with actual words. I've had a Happy Birthday post, Happy Father's Day post, prom pictures, graduation pictures, the Tuesday Special Guest posts, but nothing really...um...original. LOL. OK, I will admit, originality (I looked up original in the Thesaurus and one of the synonyms was "rare-bird" haha).... But anyway, as for sitting down and writing, just not happening lately.

We all go through it. We sit here, stare at the computer screen and go blank.

I read somewhere that if I close my eyes and just let the thoughts go, the words will flow. Just type.

OK, I'll try that.

srig tglkuf gnegjoi jfks
srhg iurhgkjrnjkfjksgjfdgh iuhg,rgiuh zfngm,h

OK, not a great idea. Maybe I'll try it with my eyes open this time.

Hi. What's new? Nothing here. How are you? Been hot here. Yesterday was nice though.

OK, still not working. As in....YAWN.

OK, try again. First thing that comes to mind.

Cat. Hat.
In French chat chapeau,
In Spanish you're a gato in a sombrero.
In German you're a katze in a hut I also know,
You're a guanka in a bunkaquank in Eskimo!

Now if you will allow me sir,
But please don't think I'm pushin,
I think that I can tell you what you are in...in...in...Russian!

You're a shapka in a shlapa!

I'm a shapka in a shlapa?

I'm a shapka in a shlapa.

I'm a shapka in a shlapa!
I'm a shapka in a shlapa I'm a shapka in a shlapa I'm a shapka in a shlapa
I'mashapkainashlapaI'mashapkainashlapaI'mashapkainashlapaI'mashapkainashlapa...

aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ENOUGH OF THAT!!!!!!

I'm A Cat...in a Hat!

"I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living; it's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of the telescope, which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life's realities."

Theodore Geisel aka "Dr. Seuss"

Have a great day!

Yes, you are a rare bird and, apparently, a Dr.Seuss in the making as well. I think that's how he wrote his books. He just wrote whatever came to his rare bird mind.

Actually, the cat idea in other languages would make a cute little article. Not that I'm pushin or anything, just sayin.

So I'll just start thinking of you as Thing 1. . . .

And now that song is going to be on my brain. Thanks a lot.

One of the things I love best about you is that you're a rare bird. :D

My mind has been a blank slate too. I wish I could write a post as witty as yours with this blank slate.

Closing your eyes and typing made me LOL.

Oh, I forgot to tell you that I mentioned you in my post today. Maybe it will give you some writing material. :)

Ted Geisel didn't have the easiest life, so his quote doesn't surprise me. We all need to find our own equivalent of looking through the telescope backward. And, until we do, we have you, rare-bird blogger!

RJ2 was reading The Cat in the Hat Comes Back tonight, and I hadn't shown her your blog yet. Lots of shapkas in shlapas in that one. (I'm half Russian, so that makes me laugh!)

You know, monkeys have been known to type great things--given enough time. And I've heard they are funny, too.

I do love Dr Suess.

Of course now I will be reciting Green Eggs and Ham for the rest of the day. Used to know the whole book off by heart!

Yes but could you write that in a box? Could you write it with a fox? And where are you heading? A big tree house?
