Revised Today Is Tuesday, You Know What That Means....3-3-09

Today is Tuesday.
You know what that means.
We're gonna have a special guest!!

Next Monday, March 9th is a VERY special day! It is the birthday of someone we all know and love.

Once upon a time, on the ninth day of the month of March in the year 1968 a beautiful baby was born. A beautiful baby girl.

She had an older sister who adored her completely...for about the first 6-8 years anyway. Then that older sister became a teenager and did her best to torment the little sister. You see, the older sister had already built a wall around herself so even if her feeling were hurt, no one would know. But the younger sister, well, lets just say it was pretty easy for the older sister to find ways to upset the younger sister...and she did...probably close to daily.

Eventually, the older sister grew up and realized that the younger sister was actually a pretty cool person. Her (younger sister's) feelings were still VERY easily hurt but the eventually the older sister did everything she could to prevent that from happening.

More years went by and the younger sister toughened up a bit, I'm not saying that she still didn't get her feelings hurt very easily. But she did get better.

The sisters were night and day.

Heat Miser and Cold Miser.

Although both republicans, one was a "hippie" republican and one was a conservative republican (talking wardrobe here). Sometimes people accused the older sister of being a liberal democrat because of how she dressed. let's just say, that never went over very well.

One wore Gaberdine Slacks, nice tops and flat black or brown shoes with maybe a tiny heel or a small wedge.
The other wore Long skirts that reach the floor but were very big around the bottom so they blew in the wind. She would pair it with a pair of hiking books a tank top and a very oversized sweater and was ready to walk out the door.

One had a "power" haircut sometimes but even when she didn't, it was always neat, in place and very pretty. She also scheduled each haircut on the day she would finish the previous one.
The other had uncontrolable curls, hair that flew any and every where and got it trimmed about once or MAYBE twice a year whether it needed it or not. Her hair almost always looked like there was a good chance she had just rolled out of bed.

One had 2 daughters (whose differences are becoming more and more apparent and one is definitely her mommy's girls but the other may just have a bit of her aunt in her).
The other had 2 sons.

A few years ago, they were both supposed to be in the downtown parade (ended up being cancelled due to the DC Sniper). One was going to be wearing an evening gown, sitting on the top of the back seat, in a convertible, waving like a prom queen. The other was going to be in full fire gear rideing on a fire engine, probably carrying an axe.

Yes, they are SO SO different, but do you know what? They can almost finish each others sentences. They both have an odd humor and sometimes they are they only ones that "get" it.
When they get together they talk and talk and talk and laugh and laugh and laugh until they are usually exhausted. They even like the same tv shows....ok, the older and wiser one can do without American Idol, but she does listen to Karen Carpenter so I think that evens things out.

SO.. here is today's special guest, a tad bit early,...from me to you (you know who you are...and so does everyone else...if they were listening)">

WHAT?!!? No picture? No video??

CJ's disappointed. (She's still trying to figure out who this is, poor thing.)

How nice to have her as your special guest before her big day! Now go bring your camera over there and have someone take your picture together--you know, you in your gaberdine slacks with the small wedge? I'm sure she can find a long skirt and tank top....

WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

We've been missing you, so thanks for checking in. I know; it's another snow day!

For those of you wondering why this is revised, I had the post completed and scheduled but didn't have the video added. Then we lost internet service because of the snow storm (8 inches, I'm guessing)!!
Anyway, I'm luckier than most. We KEPT our electricity!

Sue..I read your comment and was in such a hurry to revise the post that the clothes comment went COMPLETELY over my head...imagine that!

Anyway..I seem to have misplaced my gaberdine slacks...hhmmm

WAHAHAHAHAHA

P.S. CK says they measured 9 1/2 inches of snow!!

I don't wear flats you goof. I wear cool shoes. Just not hiking boots or converse tennis shoes. And wiser??? Who's wiser??

Otherwise everything else is pretty much true. I thought every scheduled their next haircut at the current haircut appointment? And drs appt, and dentist appts?

Thanks for the birthday tribute.

But why Marilyn Monroe?

You keep me laughing. This is a very sweet post. The closeness you two share is a special treasure!
I got something wonderful in the mail yesterday. A smile!! Yoo Hoo from cold but snowless Florida to you Virginians.

CK- You MUST admit that my Converse Hi Top Chuck Taylor Sneakers (originals...not today's new ones) ARE SO cool. (ok, you can at least admit that they are SO "Me".)

Opps...Did I write older and wiser? How did that slip in there?

Why Marilyn Monroe? Well remember, you are the recipient, not the singer. Madame President (The Eagle).

I think I know who it is. I will keep it a secret though for anyone who doesn't know. Happy birthday Kelly.

Aw the sound isn't working.:(

What a sweet tribute! You two crack me up. It really is funny how different you both are but everyone can tell you're sisters. Your love for each other clearly shows.

Now you need to put together a little slideshow of your special guest for her special day. :)

Did you know that according to Wikipedia...
47.3% of statistics are made up on the spot! :o

Let's see, I'm guessing CK's birthday is coming up!
How about that? My big sister was born March 16, 1968! And as I think of her, I'm trying not to be jealous of the relationship you and CK have. *sniff*

Hey, I received the coolest refrigerator magnet in the mail! Thanks. *grin* I'm going to post my PIF tomorrow.
