It's Always Something

Quite often when a musical duo becomes famous, one of them is much more popular and ends up going solo.

Simon and Garfunkle

It is usually pretty obvious who is going to make it big and who ends up being left behind.

After my last post I was watching the YouTube clip of The Mamas and The Papas. Watching YouTube is like playing Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. You start off watching something and there is absolutely no telling where you will end up. I know you will find this hard to believe but I actually have been known to be looking for something specific on YouTube and before I know it, I am WAY OFF what I was looking for. An hour has easily passed and even though I may have been searching for something like Scenes from The Carol Burnette Show, I somehow end up at vintage commercials. Thank Goodness I am such a focused person! Otherwise, that could end up causing a problem or at the very least a HUGE waste of time!

Ummm...

Oh yeah,

Quite often when a musical duo becomes famous, one of them is much more popular and ends up going solo.

It is usually pretty obvious who is going to make it big and who is going to be left behind.
I love Simon and Garfunkle......I Am A Rock......yadda yadda yadda.

Paul Simon went on with his music but Art Garfunkle fell through the cracks. No, I didn't say started smoking crack. I said he fell through the cracks....which really is a dumb saying. I suppose it means the cracks in the sidewalk and although Art Garfunkle was skinny, he wasn't THAT skinny.

Geez, the monkeys are all over the place today!

SO, I watched this clip of Simon and Garfunkle and if I didn't know either of them, I would have sworn (well, not sworn as in cursing because that would be ugly), but I would have been SURE that Art Garfunkle would have been the one to make it big. He was really good. Also, whenever I think of Art Garfunkle I picture a much goofier looking guy. The guy in this clip is good looking. In my opinion, very good looking.

Isn't it interesting how my signature always ends up floating around in the middle of my posts? Opps, my HTML is showing.

Well Jane, it just goes to show you. It's always something....

You are too funny.

Ahh, Simon & Garfunkel. They remind me of growing up. And I didn't dare click on the video because that is a song that goes round and round in my head.

Oh, and you might have better luck finding clips of Carol Burnett if you take the "e" off the end of her name. Just sayin' . . . :-) Although I don't know why these computers can't figure out what we intended to type!

I thought you were done, (signature) and then realized there was a whole lot of post after the "End." LOL!

It was a great video, and he didn't look goofy at all, except when he put his hands in his pockets.

I love this song. The sound of silence is hard to come by in my world. : )

I will forever think of you when I read Addison our new book "Eight little monkeys jumping on the bed, one fell off and bumped his head. Momma called the dr. and the dr. said, "No more monkeys jumping on the bed..."

Great song. I really liked that tune. But Art Garfunkel didn't slip between the cracks until after his acting debut in "Carnal Knowledge," with Jack Nicholson and Candice Bergen.

Really, if you listen to "Bridge over troubled water", you understand what a talented guy Art Garfunkel is. That's an amazing vocal range and sensitivity. Of course, at the time I was listening to my parents' cassette tape of the song, I thought Paul Simon was singing lead on that single. Who knew? It wasn't the video age yet.

Dial up Art Garfunkel singing "Grateful" sometime. (wimper! sniff!) Whew.....

it's a great song, but my computer is going to die so I tried to read it really fast. I've decided that I can't read your blog really fast. NOpe. I can't! I have no idea what I just read!

I really enjoyed this, and I agree, I think he is very good looking there too!

Even though your html shows sometimes, at least you can post your video without it making your blog columns wacko. :)
