Hurricane/Tropical Storm Hanna

You KNOW I have to say this...

The wind began to switch,
The house to pitch,
And suddenly the hinges started to unhitch...........

Does this make you Dorothy or the witch? LOL!

Great job posting the photos. I second that I'm glad no one got hurt. (except for the wicked witch).

Fa la la la la, la la.

No injuries--BIG BLESSING!!

Alberquando and I had just walked in from taking JM to a friends house (just about 2 miles away).
We walked in, the door was still open and literally "the house began to pitch". Actually it was more like a big boom and the house did more of a twitch than a pitch. Looked out window and all I could see was tree. I wasn't sure if it was still coming through so I grabbed Alberquando and pretty much threw him in the next room away from the window.
Then it was over.
Looked like there was only a little bit of cosmetic damage at first but after we removed some of the limbs and did a thorough attic inspection , there is, unfortunately a hole in the roof. The limb came straight thru. A puncture is much better than crushing though. We just need to get it patched by the end of the week when IKE will be on the way.

CK, yesterday I was Dorothy but today I'm leaning more towards being the Wicked Witch.
Remember when I used to be Scarlet? (so I thought)

(I sent you E-mail, by the way.)

That was quite a tree bow (both pronunciations apply)...or is it bough this time??

You are a good sport for putting these on your blog. I hope you can get things patched quickly.

And, if you want to dump my last blog's comment in the trash, I think you are the only one who can do that, that would be perfectly acceptable. I'm so sorry about your news!

Sue, we were all singing songs about the house pitching and twisting. No need to delete any comments.
Don't worry, the furniture wasn't spinning around, Aunt Em didn't blow (blow, blough) by while rocking in her chair and the wicked witch is no where to be found---but I may turn into her if Alberquando doesn't get back to his homework.

P.S. Thanks for the heads up that you sent an email. Now that I'm blogging, sometimes I forget about email. I'm going now to read it.

Wow, I'm so glad you're ok and that the damage was minimal.

You really do have a great outlook. I have to admit that the caption at the end caught me off guard. :D

Glad no major damage was done, or injuries.

I've been seeing all your storms on the news and wondering if any of my bloggy friends live nearby.

Good luck with Ike!

Wow! I am sorry about your roof but I am glad you are all ok. Even Dorothy, the wicked witch, and Scarlett.

Wow. Sorry about your roof!
I don't think this will do anything to fix your hole, but I have an award for you over at my place.

Yes, I really do like you!
And I want world peace, too. *grin*

Seriously, I LOVE your blog. I love that you make me laugh. I love that you like songs so much. (I used to drive my friends NUTZZZZZ because I could turn everything they said into a song.) I love that you and Chatty Kelly have such a great relationship.
And I love that God has allowed our paths to cross.

Looking forward to getting to know you better.

Loving Jesus,
Karen

You've got to start writing "Sally Field" behind your "you like me" comments. Really. ;D

My ADHD Me said...

"You like me, You really like me!" is from Sally Field as one of the awards....I think Academy Awards or Oscars.

The other quote I like is "I'm honored...and touched. And I really do want world peace." Most people probably have no idea what that is from. Sandra Bullock said it at the end of Miss Congeniality. For some reason...it makes me laugh....

Karen Hossink said...

I totally "got" the world peace thing. I love Miss Congeniality!
And the "You like me" comment made me laugh, even though I didn't know it was from Sally Fields. I had the feeling it was from an acceptance speech of some sort.

"She says everyone doesn't get my humor...can you imagine??" Oh, I "get" you, and you keep me in stitches! But, you're right, gotta keep the sponsors happy.
Have a wonderful day!
