There's a Hole....

There's a hole in the roof of my house.
There's a hole in the roof of my house.
There's a hole.
There's a hole.
There's a hole in the roof of my house.

There's a branch in the hole in the roof of my house.
There's a branch in the hole in the roof of my house.
There's a branch.
There's a branch.
There's a branch in the hole in the roof of my house.

There's a tree on the branch in the hole in the roof of my house.
There's a tree on the branch in the hole in the roof of my house.
There's a tree.
There's a tree.
There's a tree on the branch in the hole in the roof of my house.

There's an insurance adjuster by the tree on the branch in the hole in the roof of my house.
There's an insurance adjuster by the tree on the branch in the hole in the roof of my house.
There's an insurance adjuster.
There's an insurance adjuster.
There's an insurance adjuster by the tree on the branch in the hole in the roof of my house.

And an appraiser.....and a tree removal service...and a stump removal service.....and a roofing contractor to patch the hole.....and another roofing contractor to replace the shingles.....and a great big tarp....and a sea of sawdust......

......and I'm trying to write a new post...
......but I'm tired.....
......so I think I'll go to bed instead.....
......I guess I'll wait and post tomorrow......

......go ahead and disregard this evenings post.
......go ahead and disregard this evenings post.
......go ahead.
......go ahead.
......go ahead and disregard this evenings post.

Can't disregard the hole, and the branch, and the tree, and the insurance adjuster, and the appraiser, and the tired .....

..... but can't quite make out the tune.

I know the tune! It's a camp song! How fun! Sorry, not so much fun for you with all the people adjusting and apraising and sawing and patching. I hope it is going as smoothly as it possibly can. Glad you can still sing about it!

Hey Edie..Mrs P is right. It is an old camp song. I must have learned it at school because I never went to camp...Mrs P, however, is the camping queen.
The original went something like,
There's a hole in the bottom of the sea...(I think). Not really sure, as my mind...well, you know.

Yep. The hole was in the bottom of the sea.
Somehow, I'm thinking there was a log by the hole, because I'm remembering "a wart on the frog by the bump on the log..." Was the log by the hole? "There's a hole, there's a hole, there's a hole in the bottom of the sea!"
Yes, I went to camp. Seven summers in a row, even! But I think I learned that song somewhere else.

Anyway...I don't think I can say enough what a joy you are in my life. I think I laugh at everything you type. My daughter had just gotten home from school yesterday when you were leaving your comments and I think she was about ready to call an EMT because I couldn't stop laughing. (Do you make "calls" in Michigan? Maybe you would have been the one to respond. *grin*)
And don't worry, missionaries in Spain won't be given priority in the drawing. *another grin*
Have a great day!

You poor thing!

Love the attitude! My son has a shirt on today that says, "Attitude is everything!"

Thanks for sharing on my post today! Josh McDowell said, "Rules without relationship equals rebellion." It's those very fragile relationships during their teen years that need our time and attention! I love that you can talk to your sons openly. Thanks for letting other moms know that it is really not that difficult to do!

Ok, I just deleted the last comment that I wrote because I had it wrong.
For the record:

"THERE'S a flea on the wing on the fly on the wart on the frog on the bump on the log in the hole in the bottom of the sea....."

wow - 7 comments already! (insert jealous scowl here). I don't know that song either - amazing. how is that possible? I am the Lyric Queen. Egads - that must make you the Lyric Queen, and I am only the Duchess of Lyrics. Dang.

BUT - I SOLD an article yesterday for publication. Hooray for me! (Loud yelling and applause - all by me for me). And so humble. ;D

Thank you sooo much for the complete lyrics to the "There's a Hole" song. It has been driving me crazy...I've been thinking about it ever since I read your post...I haven't been able to get anything done....Now I can get on with life. Whew. I feel so much better.

Now I'm off to give a big round of applause to CK. (Sounds of cheering crowds.)

Ok. I'm feeling all left out now. Obviously we are not cultured enough here in Australia to sing that camp song. We got stuck with Kumbayah.

Great. Now I have Kumbayah in my head. I need a hole in my head to leak all the annoying songs out!

Someone's singing about the tree and the branch and the hole...

Kum ba yah!

Someone's singing about the adjuster, appraiser, roofer...

Kum ba yah!

Theory is that if you sing the song that plagues you, it will go away. So, put them all together and you should be ready to move on to something like

"Stayin' alive! Stayin' alive!

I...I...I...I'm stayin' alive, stayin' alive.

I...I...I...I'm stayin' alIIIIIIIII....IIIIIIIIII......IIIIIIIII......IIIIIIIIve."

yeah!

(Well, at least you're blogging! I'm still playing catch-up.)
