Today Is Tuesday. You Know What That Means....1-20-09

Today Is Tuesday.
You Know What That means.
We're Gonna Have A Special Guest....

There are 2 reasons that I dress in black the majority of the time.
One of those reasons is because of this song.

The other is...well, it's a long story.

ANYWAY, Please listen to this song. It's one of my favorites.

Wow! I do not have a comment today...

I don't know whether to take this song seriously or jokingly.

At first, I was like, "O-kay...."

and then I listened to the words, and was like, "Whoa..."

Do I pray for this woman or do I laugh at her???

...it's too early in the morning to be confused:)

...So I will pray for you and then laugh at you, k?

I love anything by Johnny. He is one of my favorites too. I dress in black because it makes me look thinner. There, I said it.

Greg beat me to it. I was going to say black is thinning. But I dress in hot pink. Wonder what that says about me?

I think that song is depressing (although a jaunty tune). The words...yes there will always be bad in the world, but Philippians says to focus on the what ever is noble and praiseworthy and excellent. That is why I wear hot pink. :-)

I wear alot of black too. My reason is because my husband says I look great in it! ; )

Another day you'll have to give us the long story.

He had a difficult life and ran into a lot of difficult stuff. I guess he was saying "I know where you've been." And, we all need to be reminded that there are other people in the world dealing with (and trying to get out of) their difficult stuff.

Spiritually, I'm not sure he got it all right, however, because even though we've lost many in wars and such doesn't mean that God is not with them. We all have trouble figuring out war, even though the Bible says there is a time for such.

He definitely was unique and had that sound that just made you tune in. I think I just read recently somewhere that the "Man in Black" was actually his brother's idea. (His brother was his manager for a time.) Johnny probably just thought that was ripe for a song, and let me throw in my thoughts on the war while I'm at it.....

One of a kind....

Oh...so that's it! Indeed you are!!

Johnny who? Either I'm really slow or too young. Exactly who is our visitor today? Johnny Cash? Is that who it is?

BTW, I like black because it makes me look thinner. (At least my bottom half)

I didn't know who that was either--nor have I ever heard that song--but I figured it was Johnny Cash because it sounded like Ring of Fire. I love black--so thinning!!

I wear all colors. I like balck though because it goes with most anything. I don't have to fuss around so much trying to match somthing up. I am really slow in the early mornings!

Ok, deep doesn't work here.
And yes, black is also nice because it is thinning...

The deep part worked for me. :)
I love Johnny Cash. My first recollection of him was when I was a kid (don't know how old). He was on a program called Save the Children, or it was for the organization Save the Children. I only remember two things about the show. The program was raising money for this org that was helping children that had been abused. Johnny Cash said that he wore black in mourning for those children. Clearly from the song, they were only part of the reason. It was his way of saying "I care". A tribute to those who had been wronged.

That left a strong impression on me, and I have admired him ever since. GREAT Tuesday guest! You can invite him back anytime.

You would choose him on my blog break. It's a good thing I decided to come say hi.

Ok, back to break. :)

THANK YOU EDIE!!

You said what I would have said...had I been able to come up with the words to say it.

His way of saying "I care".

I am laughing out loud at your "p.s." on my blog today. Yup!

Edie, I know you're not going to read this probably, but thanks for sticking up for the deep! You know, black is very, very deep.... Deeper than brown....

My ADHD Me said...

Sue J....Yes, but brown is pretty deep too!

I"m just here to laugh at you. I just read Greg's post on Firefighting and his favorite fire fighter (YOU) inspired by "Eric" (aka YOU!)

I told him seemed suspicious to me! LOL!

Brown is very deep... and Rich too. I Love brown, deep, rich brown.

Ok so I peek in every once in a while. This is where my friends hang out. :)

Edie - just say it. You are taking a break from WRITING your blog, and reading everyone's blog except ADHD 'cause inquiring minds want to know. It's okay. :-)

(Why isn't Edie reading my blog, she must like ADHD better. *sob*) Oh, wait, am I still logged on? Ooops!
