Can you say "bad hair day." Wow, that was a bad hair cut. But I loved that show. :-)

Next you'll have to move to afternoon shows like Brady Bunch and Leave it to Beaver...then onto night shows like the Dukes of Hazzard. YAAAAAAAAhhhhhoooowwwwww!

Funny - I thought exactly what Kelly did.... "what's with the hair cut?!" I did love that show. I don't know why but the ping pong balls falling on Mr. Moose always were hilarious to me. I'm still easily entertained. ; )

Beverly Lou Who- I had forgotten about the ping ball balls. OK, that did crack me up......(could explain alot about me????)

Yes, The hair was ....wow!

Another observation....I remembered Mr Green Jeans as being REALLY REALLY old...like near 100. HHmmm, Now that I'm older he doesn't look so old....scary.

These are all blurbs from googling. I don't think everyone knew how to spell his name...

"What happened to Kaptain Kangaroo, why did he drop off the radar so quick? Ummm because he died..."

"Captain Kangaroo was a children's television series which aired weekday mornings on the American television network CBS from 1955 until 1984..."

"Kaptain Kangaroo is not a member of any public groups"

"Did Lee Marvin and Bob 'Captain Kangaroo' Keeshan fight together at Iwo Jima?"

"Bob Keeshan - ("Captain Kangaroo") U.S. Marines, enlisted two weeks before his 18th birthday. He saw no combat because his enlistment was just two months ..."

"They thought they could have a Captain Kangaroo show without Bob Keeshan. It failed. It deserved to. Bob Keeshan is the Captain - the only Captain Kangaroo"

"Captain Kangaroo passed away on January 23, 2004 at age 76 , which is odd, because he always looked to be 76. (DOB: 6/27/27)"

~~~~~~Thanks for being the special guest this Tuesday. You were a good Kaptain Kangaroo!!! *sniff *sniff... Did you have ADHD too???
I was thinking the same thing as CK. He definetly needed a new hair stylist. But I liked that show. Mr Moose might have been a favorite.
Funny that you thought of Mr Green Jeans as being older than the Captain.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for the encouragement!!!!!!!!
I was very impressed and honored! By the way, In my comment, I was talking to Kaptain Kangaroo and asking if he had ADHD. I KNOW you have ADHD. :)
But seriously, thank you very, very, very, very, very much!!!!!!!
Now YOU'RE TALKIN*
I loved Captain Kangaroo, and Moose and Rabbit too... -- Rabbit was my favorite... I always LOVED when all the pingpong balls dropped.
EVERY single morning in the 3rd grade my mom made me toast and chocolate milk and I watched Captain Kangaroo, Mr. Green Jeans, Mr. Moose and Bunny Rabbit. Bunny Rabbit was a sympathetic soul because I wore coke-bottle glasses, but all the same, he creeped me out just a little. Not sure why...And someday (maybe at my funeral if Jesus doesn't just come and sweep me away) I want to have a big huge bunch of ping pong balls fall down around me and everyone around me...
He was on just a little too early for us to watch his show from the beginning....so he never caught on with me. But, I'm sure he was as dear a man as Fred Rogers.
Oh, I LOVED Captain Kangaroo!!!
I used to pretend that I had a hiding place where I kept miniature people like he had. I thought that would be so cool!
But I always wished I had Picture Pages. Whenever that little song started playing I got sad becasue I couldn't do them. *sigh*
